Ho Koon Nature Education cum Astronomical Centre visited the Observatory's Airport Meteorological Office

Fourteen members from Ho Koon Nature Education cum Astronomical Centre led by the Principal Micah Kwok visited the Observatory's Airport Meteorological Office (AMO) on 19 December 2011. Mr Sham Fu-cheung, Chief Experimental Officer of the Observatory, introduced the Hong Kong aviation weather observation, forecast and warning services to them. They also visited the Air Traffic Control Centre of Civil Aviation Department to better understand how weather information provided by AMO is utilized in air traffic management. Mr Kwok expressed sincere appreciation to the Observatory's staff for their detailed briefing. He also commented that the visit not only increased their understanding of the aviation weather services, but also enhanced their interest in meteorology.
