The Observatory Winning Two Awards under the Waste Check Charter

1 June 2017

The Hong Kong Observatory has won the Waste Check Promotional Partner Award (Class of Good) and the Waste Check Commitment Award under the Waste Check Charter, which was organised by the Environmental Protection Department with the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) serving as the executive agent.

After signing the Charter, participating organisations were requested to submit their waste check data record once every 3 months throughout the 18-month Charter period (6 seasons). During the Charter period, the Observatory honoured its pledge to submit the data on waste disposal and waste recovery regularly and was therefore presented with a Waste Check Commitment Award.

In addition, the Observatory was simultaneously presented with the Waste Check Promotional Partner Awards (Class of Good), showing its efforts in holding waste reduction publicity and educational activities.
