"Basic Meteorological Knowledge" in hot sale

Ever since its launch on 12 October, the Observatory's book "Basic Meteorological Knowledge" (in Chinese only) has gained immediate popularity with the first lot nearly exhausted in two weeks. The remaining stock has since been distributed to the sales outlets. The Information Services Department is arranging an additional printing of several thousand copies to meet the demand. They are expected to be available in mid-December.

Nicely printed and filled with colourful images, the book has received high acclaim. The work of the Observatory's Mr. Leung Wai-hung (Scientific Officer), Mr. Hung Fan-yiu (Senior Experimental Officer) and Mr. Lam Kai-bun (retired Chief Scientific Assistant), the book is written in layman terms and shares with reader their many years' of weather forecasting and observing experience.

The book is now available for sale at the Hong Kong Observatory Resource Centre, the online Government Bookstore, the Publications Sales Unit of the Information Services Department, General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tuen Mun Central Post Office and Sha Tin Central Post Office. The price is $40 a copy.
