21 June 2007

The Hong Kong Observatory organized public seminars on "Weather and Life" at North District, Tuen Mun, Tsim Sha Tsui, Sheung Wan and Sha Tin from 17 April to 9 May 2007. The seminars elaborated weather phenomena affecting our daily life and the precautionary measures under severe weather. This series of talks altogether attracted some 500 participants. Most of them expressed that the activity was an effective way to foster public understanding of severe weather and to promote disaster preparedness. They also looked forward to participating in similar programmes in the near future.
