Hong Kong Observatory awarded the Caring Orgainsation Again

The Hong Kong Observatory has just been awarded the Caring Organisation under the "Caring Organisation 2006/07" Scheme. This is the second consecutive year the Observatory receives the award since its inception last year. The "Caring Organisation" Scheme is organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service which aims to cultivate corporate citizenship and strategic partnership among the business, public and social service sectors by recognizing government departments, statutory organisations, professional bodies, education institutes, etc for their enthusiasm in building a caring community spirit. The Hong Kong Observatory is awarded the Caring Organisation in recognition of its outstanding achievements in supporting employee volunteering through the HKO Volunteers, providing a family-friendly environment for employees through a series of family-oriented policies and activities, offering employment opportunities to vulnerable groups and encouraging donation in cash or in kind to social service organisations.
