Public talks on "Weather and Everyday Life"

4 August 2008

The Hong Kong Observatory conducted free public talks on "Weather and Everyday Life" at Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Sha Tin, Tsim Sha Tsui, Central and Kwai Fong in June and July 2008. The talks elaborated on weather phenomena affecting our daily life and precautionary measures to be taken under inclement weather.

The series of talks attracted some 160 participants from all age groups. The talks not only arouse the participants interest in the weather, but also helped them to better cope with severe weather events. The active participation and sharing of experiences of extreme weather events in the past by the elderly added props to the talk.
