WMO Secretary-General visited the Observatory

The Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Mr Michel Jarraud, visited the Hong Kong Observatory on 4 February 2010 while he was attending the 14th Session of the WMO Commission for Aeronautical Meteorology (CAeM) held in Hong Kong. The Director, Dr Lee Boon-ying, introduced to him the Observatory's history and the work of the forecasting office.

CAeM is a technical commission of the WMO looking after the application of meteorology to aviation. This is the first time the CAeM Session is held in Asia. More than 100 world experts in aviation meteorology attended the Session.
