Hong Kong Observatory signed MOU on Cooperation with Solomon Islands Meteorological Service

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation with the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service (SIMS) to enhance collaboration and exchange in aeronautical meteorological science and technologies. This is the first MOU that the Observatory establishes with the official meteorological service of a Pacific Island Country.

Through the MOU, HKO and SIMS will collaborate in various areas in support of international civil air navigation, including sharing of weather data, provision of training, enhancing SIGMET Coordination in the region, and cooperation in international aeronautical meteorological matters.
