The Observatory won a Silver Award in the Public Sector of the 2009 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) Sectoral Awards

The Hong Kong Observatory has received a Silver Award in the Public Sector of the 2009 HKAEE Sectoral Awards in the award presentation ceremony held on 12 May 2010 . The HKAEE is recognized as one of the most prestigious and reputable award schemes in environmental protection in Hong Kong . It aims to encourage organizations to adopt green management and present them with a unique opportunity to benchmark their commitment towards environmental protection.

The Observatory has always endeavored to promote environmental protection. Apart from hardware improvement such as implementing environmental measures and using green products, campaigns and seminars are organised to help changing the mindset and mitigating environmental problems. The Observatory will continue to play an active part in environmental protection with its unique role and expertise.
