Display Area 6 : Natural Disasters in Hong Kong before WWII

A record produced after the passage of the devastating typhoon that struck Hong Kong on 2 September 1937. The pressure and wind speeds recorded in Hong Kong are shown near the top. The map in the middle shows vessels damaged by the typhoon. The descriptions at the bottom mention that the tide in Victoria Harbour rose 13 feet due to the storm surge and small fishes were blown 20 feet above ground.
