Display Area 19 : Conclusion
Introduction of Display Area
Looking back over the past 130 years, the services of the Hong Kong Observatory have become more diversid in response to the pace of social change and public need. Rampant economic activity and the mature wisdom of visionaries have strengthened the linkage between meteorological work and the life of the general public. On-going technological advancements have fostered the rapid development of the Hong Kong Observatory. Nevertheless, the painstaking efforts of predecessors have left behind a legacy for today's Observatory. The Observatory will strive to provide a people-oriented service of excellence through science, innovation and partnership, enhancing the capability of society in preventing natural disasters and ably preparing for climate change.
The Observatory updated its values to Serve, Care, Innovate, Enthuse, Nurture, Collaborate and Excel, connected by the seven characters of SCIENCE, indicating science as its basis
