Hong Kong Sea School joins the Community Weather Information Network

The Hong Kong Sea School has recently joined the Hong Kong Community Weather Information Network (HK Co-WIN), making the total number of members 50.

The automatic weather station at the school provides real-time weather information in the area of Stanley, including air temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, as well as ultraviolet radiation index (UVI). The latter gives valuable information for people engaged in outdoor activities and water sports. The weather information is available on the HK Co-WIN website. The weather information is also expected to provide valuable information in support of the Observatory's weather service for windsurfing events of the East Asian Games to be held in December 2009 in Tai Tam Bay, Stanley.
