Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System. In its rich atmosphere, complex belts and zones are formed by the convection of different types of gases. In the southern hemisphere of Jupiter, there is a red oval region called the Great Red Spot. It is in fact a gigantic storm big enough to hold three Earths. The storm has been found blowing for more than three centuries, and shows no signs of subsidence. |
