Precipitation Detector

The precipitation detector is developed by the staff of the Observatory to alert the observer as well as the forecaster the onset and cessation of rainfall.  It consists of a sensor');  installed on the front lawn of the Observatory Headquarters to detect raindrops and an alarm at the Central Forecasting Office,'); which is triggered by the signals transmitted from the detector.
