Thunderstorms

In Hong Kong, thunderstorms normally occur between April and September. Thunderstorms are reported by observers at the Hong Kong Observatory Headquarters. The number of days with thunderstorms reported each year was examined. The annual number of days with thunderstorms showed an increasing trend of about 2.1 days per decade during 1947-2019, in line with the trend of heavy rain days.
