A Memorable Meeting of the Airline Liaison Group

Stepping into the 16th year since its birth in 1993, the 31st meeting of the Airline Liaison Group on 20 January 2009 was a particularly memorable one – it is the last meeting attended by Mr CY Lam, Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, who will be retiring in early April 2009. Mr Lam originated the idea of user liaison groups and the Airline Liaison Group was among the first user liaison groups established by the Observatory, followed by similar groups for the other sectors that the Observatory serves.

To commemorate this special occasion, all participants were given a copy of the newly published book "Weathering the Storms" – a collection of essays to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Observatory, and a button badge to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Airport Meteorological Office.
