Pilots from Cathay Pacific Airways Limited visiting the Observatory

HKO News Bulletin for the Aviation Community (37th Issue)

A group of pilots from Cathay Pacific Airways Limited visited the Hong Kong Observatory Headquarters on 9 May 2017. During their tour to the Central Forecasting Office, they showed keen interest in the surface pressure charts analyzed by the weather forecasters, and were amazed by the capability of the latest numerical weather prediction model products. After the tour, their opinions were sought on existing and future provision of aviation weather information, especially on the development of flight specific applications.
