Aviation Days 2003 (Dec 2003)

Aviation Days 2003 (13 & 14 December 2003)

In celebration of 100 years of powered flight, local airlines and aviation organizations joined hands to hold the "Aviation Days 2003" on 13 and 14 December 2003 at the old Kai Tak Airport.   As part of the event, the Observatory conducted a series of popular science lectures on "Weather and Recreational Aviation Sports" and set up a booth to introduce the public to the weather services provided for aviation.

At the same time, the Observatory officially launched a new service "Weather Information for Aviation Sports" on its website to deliver updated weather information to users participating in aviation sports activities such as paragliding, radio-controlled gliding and air-ballooning.
