Aerodrome Tsunami Warning

In the latest Amendment 74 to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 3, ICAO adopted the proposal to include "tsunami" as a phenomenon which should prompt the issuance of an aerodrome warning. The new requirement becomes applicable on 7 November 2007. Similar to other aerodrome warnings, when the aerodrome tsunami warning is issued, it will be shown both on the sidebar and under "HKIA Aerodrome Warnings" of the "Warnings" section of the Aviation Meteorological Information Dissemination System (AMIDS).
