Briefing on HKO Aviation Weather Services

HKO News Bulletin for the Aviation Community (35th Issue)

The Observatory conducted its annual Briefing on Aviation Weather Services on 30 March 2016 at the Auditorium of the Cathay Pacific City. Latest updates of windshear and turbulence alerting service, forecast products for significant convection and tropical cyclones, as well as the Aviation Meteorological Information Dissemination System (AMIDS) were presented to close to 70 representatives from the local aviation industry during the event. The briefing was well received by the participants. In a post-event evaluation, most of the replies indicted that the briefing was useful.

The Observatory's staff presented updates on the study of building effects on low level wind to the aviation users.
