A Virtual Tour to The World's First LIDAR at The Airport

Here is the close-up view of the LIDAR equipment.

A scanner sits on top of an equipment shelter. It sends out eye-safe infrared light and receives reflections from aerosols in the air.

The scanner can rotate horizontally to detect the wind flow over the runways. It can also tilt upwards to capture the vertical variation in the winds.
