Terminal Doppler Weather Radar

In the afternoon of 24 May 2015, an area of thunderstorms passed from west to east across Chek Lap Kok. The TDWR at Brothers Point detected a microburst over the Centre Runway (ex-North Runway) of the airport and issued microburst alerts. Surface anemometer measurements showed strengthening of the wind speed near the microburst warning area.
