"Cool Met Stuff": Overtopping Waves

Overtopping waves are sea waves that go over the top of coastal structures, such as seawalls. Overtopping waves not only pose potential damage to the coastal facilities, but can also cause flooding. Yet, how do overtopping waves form? In the latest episode of "Cool Met Stuff", we will introduce the factors that influence overtopping waves and the Observatory's "Coastal Sea Level" total water level forecast, enabling the public to better understand the water level variations in advance and take timely precautions.
