Addition of the Trial Version of the Greater Bay Area Weather Information Service on the “MyObservatory”

To facilitate the citizens travelling around the Greater Bay Area (GBA), the Hong Kong Observatory launched the new version (iOS 7.9, Android 5.11, Huawei 5.11) of the “MyObservatory”. Besides local weather information, GBA weather information was also added, enabling users to easily enquire the real-time weather observation, warnings in force and forecast information of more than 50 districts in the remaining 10 cities within the GBA on the “MyObservatory”. Through the positioning function, users can also access the up-to-date weather information over the located districts in the GBA anytime, helping them to prepare for daily activities and travel plans.

The newly introduced GBA weather information is sourced from the “Weather Website for GBA”, which was developed jointly by the Hong Kong Observatory, Guangdong Meteorological Service and Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau to support the development of the GBA.

Users are welcome to download at the following links (iOS, Android, Huawei) for use.

“Greater Bay Area Weather” page on “MyObservatory” provides the real-time weather observations (including temperature, relative humidity, one-hour rainfall, wind direction and wind speed), the local warnings in force, 7-day weather forecast and 3-hourly forecast information. “Greater Bay Area Weather” page shows the weather information of the district within the GBA where the user is located (in case the automatic location service is turned on) and the user-selected districts in the areas.
