"Cool Met Stuff": Swell
12 July 2024
Calm winds do not mean clam seas. Before a tropical cyclone reaches Hong Kong, the weather is usually clam due to the influence of its outer subsiding air. Yet, the seas might not be calm and could have hidden danger.
In the new episode of "Cool Met Stuff", we will take you to the shore to briefly talk about why there are swells even without winds, and explain its potential threats.
The video is now available on the "MyObservatory" mobile application and the Observatory's website for your viewing (programme is broadcasted in Cantonese).
