English version of "Decoding Radiation" e-book now available

The Hong Kong Observatory launches the English version of the "Decoding Radiation" e-book today (24 May).

The Chinese version of the e-book was launched in December last year to introduce in layman's terms various radiation-related topics including basic concepts of radiation, areas of application, effects on health, radiation protection, monitoring and analysis methods, as well as nuclear emergency preparedness. With many vivid graphics and quiz games, the e-book was well received by audience with more than 80,000 page views so far. The Observatory has recently developed the English version of the e-book with a view to promoting it to wider audience. Collaboration will also be made with the Hong Kong Education City to include the e-book in their EdBOOkShelf in the near future.
