“MyObservatory” Launched Traffic Information Feature

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) launched a new version of the “MyObservatory” app (iOS version 7.2, Android version 5.3.0, Huawei version 5.3.0). The new version includes a “Traffic Information” layer on the “Location-based Rainfall and Lightning Forecast” page which shows the forecast traffic conditions of strategic / major roads in Hong Kong.

The forecast traffic data is originated from the Transport Department’s “Traffic Data Analytics System” that incorporates weather data in estimating the future traffic conditions. While users can currently get hold of the latest rainfall and lightning forecast at any location in the coming one or two hours, the new version of “Location-based Rainfall and Lightning Forecast” page can help users in better understand the impact of weather on road traffic.

The "MyObservatory" is a free app. Users are welcome to download at the following links (iOS, Android, Huawei).
