360 Tour of Radiation Monitoring Station

Today (2 July 2021), the 360 degree virtual tour will bring you to the radiation monitoring station at King’s Park. It is one of the twelve stations of the Observatory’s radiation monitoring network. Equipped with a high pressure ionization chamber, the station measures the ambient gamma radiation level round-the-clock. Since the operation of the network in 1992, the radiation level recorded has been within the normal background range.
