"Cool Met Stuff" : Typhoon York: The last Signal No.10 of the 20th century

11 September 2020

Typhoon York hit Hong Kong in September, 1999. The Hurricane Signal No. 10 was hoisted for the first time in 16 years. The Signal No. 10 lasted for 11 hours, the longest in the post-war era. With its movement once being erratic, both its track and the changes in intensity brought challenges to forecasts. The latest episode of "Cool Met Stuff" revisits how York affected Hong Kong.

The video is now available on the "MyObservatory" mobile application and the Observatory's website for your viewing (programme is broadcasted in Cantonese).
