"Cool Met Stuff" : The Legend of Aurora

6 April 2018

According to a folk tale in northern Finland, auroras were the sparks caused by the tail of a firefox as it ran through the snows. The word "aurora"(originated from Latin) was also the name of "the goddess of dawn" in Roman mythology. The latest episode of "Cool Met Stuff" demystifies aurora. The video is now available on the "MyObservatory" mobile application and the Observatory's website for your viewing.
