Hong Kong Observatory Open Day 2022

Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) will organize “HKO Open Day 2022” on 26 (Saturday) and 27 (Sunday) November to showcase the work of the HKO and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Adopting the theme of this year’s World Meteorological Day, “Early Warning and Early Action. Hydrometeorological and Climate Information for Disaster Risk Reduction”, the exhibitions at the Open Day will showcase how the HKO applies the latest technology to provide various services including weather forecasting, aviation weather, microclimate monitoring and radiation monitoring.

Online pre-registration is required. Each applicant may request a maximum of 4 tickets free of charge. If there is oversubscription, selection will be made by computer balloting. The online registration system will accept applications from today (24 October) to 12 noon on November 8. Successful applicants will receive tickets with QR code through email on or before November 21.

HKO Open Day details:

Venue: Hong Kong Observatory Headquarters (134A Nathan Road, Kowloon)

Date: 26 (Saturday) and 27 (Sunday) November

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Total 6 sessions each day)

Remark: Duration of each session is around 1 hour
