30 September 2026

Co-organised by the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the 20th Anniversary Event of the Science in the Public Service (SIPS) - Science and Technology Fair, was successfully held at the Hong Kong Science Museum from 25 to 27 September. The three-day event received an enthusiastic response, attracting nearly 10,000 visitors.

The fair presented over 20 booths to showcase the application of innovative technology in enhancing public services. The HKO’s booth was very well-received by the public, featuring an introduction to China's satellite meteorological technology and a display of the drone deployed for meteorological measurements along with the onboard instruments. The public also enjoyed video highlights of Dr Lai Ka-ying, Hong Kong’s first astronaut, taking part in the national manned spaceflight mission and visited various booths set up by other government departments and collaborating organizations.

The SIPS campaign will continue to organise a series of attractive events from October to December. For details, please visit the SIPS campaign website: https://www.science.gov.hk/
