International Air Cadet Exchange Programme 2026

A group of young air cadets from China, France and Korea gathered at the Hong Kong Observatory on 19 July 2026 for a meteorological learning journey. As part of the "International Air Cadet Exchange Programme 2026", the Observatory has meticulously arranged a series of visits and briefings, through which the cadets not only gained an understanding of the theory of aviation meteorology, but also learned about the day-to-day operations of the Airport Meteorological Office and how weather forecasting and warning services support the aviation industry.

A key highlight of the itinerary was the visit to the Central Forecasting Office, the Meteorological Garden and the History Room, allowing the cadets to experience first-hand the actual operations behind the Observatory's weather services. Through interactions with Observatory staff, the cadets have developed a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of meteorological work.
