Delegation from the College of Aviation Meteorology, Civil Aviation Flight University of China Visited the Hong Kong Observatory

Dr Li Yaohui, Dean of the College of Aviation Meteorology at the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC), led a delegation on a visit to the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) during 29 and 30 December 2025. The delegation engaged in in-depth exchanges on low-level wind shear and turbulence alerting, aviation weather forecasting, and the latest research in aviation meteorology, exploring potential collaboration opportunities.

The delegation toured the Central Forecasting Office, the Brothers Point Terminal Doppler Weather Radar Station, as well as the Airport Meteorological Office and Doppler Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) systems at the Hong Kong International Airport. The exchange fostered mutual understanding and laid a foundation for future cooperation.
