Delegation from the Civil Aviation Administration of China visited the Observatory

Ms. LIANG Nan, Deputy Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), led a delegation to visit the Hong Kong Observatory on 27 November 2024. During the visit, the delegation toured the Observatory's facilities, including the Central Forecasting Office, TV Studio, and History Room. The Observatory briefed the delegation on its latest developments in aviation weather services and reviewed its collaboration with the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of CAAC in recent years. This visit highlighted the strong partnership between the CAAC and the Hong Kong Observatory, and facilitated further cooperation on aviation weather services between the two parties in the future for enhancing regional aviation safety and efficiency.

The eight-strong delegation of CAAC visiting the Observatory included other senior officials such as Mr. LI Shuangchen, Director General of the Central and Southern Regional Administration; Mr. HAN Guangzu, Director General of the Flight Standard Department; Mr. XU Feng, Director General of Aircraft Airworthiness Certification Department; Mr. MIAO Xuan, Deputy Director General of the Air Traffic Management Bureau; and Mr. ZHANG Le, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Affairs and Director of the Office of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Affairs.
