Extension of scope of ISO 9001 certification for Observatory’s automatic meteorological measurement services

Hong Kong Observatory’s automatic regional temperature measurement services
have been awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Services Certification since
2019. To enhance the quality management
of weather information services, the Observatory recently extended the scope of
certification to cover other measurements, including the mean sea level
pressure and relative humidity. The
resulting automatic regional meteorological measurement services were awarded
ISO certification in late 2021.
The Observatory started establishing automatic weather stations since
1984 to provide automatic meteorological measurement services to the
public. Up to now the stations are
widely distributed over the territory and have served the public for over 30
years. The latest certification reaffirms
the high-quality automatic meteorological measurement services provided by the
Observatory.
