The Observatory winning four awards under the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2017

The Hong Kong Observatory gained recognition again in the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2017, winning a total of four awards, and ranked 3rd among the departments in terms of the number of awards. In addition to the Gold Prize of the Departmental Service Enhancement Award (Small Department Category), the Observatory's "Big Data Analysis and Decision Support" also won the Gold Prize of Team Award (Internal Service). The other two awards were:

  • Bronze Prize of Best Public Image Award
  • Bronze Prize of Team Award (Specialized Service) - Media Unit for Service Enhancement (MUSE) Team
  • The Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme, organized by the Civil Service Bureau, aims to recognize the efforts of government departments and teams in providing outstanding services to the community, to promote a customer-focused culture and to inspire civil servants to continuously strive for excellence in service delivery.

    Always mindful of the needs of the public and different user groups, the Observatory develops new and personalized services through innovative technology. The Observatory also maintains effective communication with the public through various channels for the provision of timely and efficient services. The latest achievement signifies the recognition of public on her high quality services as the Observatory continues to strive for excellence in serving the public.
