Weather Report by "Weather Family" Figures

"Weather family" figures will feature in the evening TV weather programmes presented by meteorologists of the Hong Kong Observatory on Cable TV starting today (24 July).

Since 1993, meteorologists of the Observatory have been presenting TV weather programmes on Cable TV every Monday to Friday evening. With the use of satellite cloud pictures and weather charts, the meteorologists explain the weather to the public in simple terms. "Weather family" cartoons will make these TV weather programmes more interesting and heighten the public's awareness of changes in weather.

This set of "weather family" figures is the champion design of an open competition held at the end of 2001. The design is based on lovable characters of children with a view to project the Observatory's care for the society.
