The Earliest Rainstorm Warning (25 March 2001)

An active cold front crossed the coast of Guangdong this afternoon and brought heavy rain and thunderstorms to Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Observatory issued an amber rainstorm warning this afternoon (Sunday, 25 March 2001). This is the first time that an amber rainstorm warning was issued in March since the revised rainstorm warning system came into effect in 1998. It is also the earliest rainstorm warning in the year since 1998.

The details of the warnings issued by the Observatory today (25 March):

Thunderstorm Warning 12:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Amber Rainstorm Warning 1:25 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
