to the coastal areas of Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was cloudy
and a few squally thunderstorms
were heavy at times. More than 20 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over widespread areas, and rainfall even exceeded 70 millimetres over Sai Kung, Kowloon and the western part of Hong Kong Island. The trough
of low pressure will continue to bring thundery showers
to the coast of Guangdong today. With the gradual weakening of the trough
of low pressure and the establishment of anticyclone
aloft over the northern part of the South China Sea, the weather will become fine
over the south China coastal areas during the weekend.
