Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong
Observatory.

A weak ridge of high pressure is bringing fine weather to
southeastern China.

The tropical depression over the South China Sea has
intensified into a tropical storm. At noon, the tropical
storm was centred about 300 kilometres west of Manila. It
is forecast to move northeast at around 10 kilometres per
hour towards Luzon. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Matmo was
centred about 420 kilometres east-southeast of Okinawa. It
is forecast to move east-northeast at about 45 kilometres
per hour towards the seas south of Japan.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Mainly fine and dry apart from some haze. Hot in the
afternoon. Light to moderate easterly winds.

Outlook : Fine but hazy over the weekend. Showers early
next week.
