| The Observatory provides a
web page on climatological information of major cities in the world for travellers.
The data are mainly extracted from the World Meteorological Organization
publication '1961-1990 Global Climate Normals' compiled by National Climatic Data
Center of the United States. They are 30-year average values for the period
1961-1990. |
| |
| Users can select a continent from the
world map of the main page, enter the desired country and click the red dot next to
the name of a city to view the corresponding summary of climatological information.
Wherever available, the latest weather forecast is also provided. The
text version provides an alternative means to find out the information of a city
from a selected country. |
| |
| Climatological information for a city
include the city's mean maximum temperature, mean temperature, mean minimum
temperature, total rainfall amount, number of rainy days and mean duration of
sunshine. Except for duration of sunshine which are mean daily values, all
other values are mean monthly values of individual climatological parameters. |
