  • The Observatory launches a new Ultraviolet Information Webpage

The Observatory launched a new Ultraviolet (UV) Information Webpage today (1 August 2018), facilitating members of the public to access the real-time UV information and related sun protection tips more conveniently.

The new UV Information Webpage is tailor-made for mobile platforms. Mobile phone users can conveniently access the information therein. The latest measurement results of UV Index (UVI) and UVA radiation intensity are displayed together in the same platform and updated once every 15-minute. The Webpage also allows user to preset his/her own alert level for UVI.When UVI reaches the preset alert level, a sound alarm and a verbal reminder will be automatically triggered to alert the user to pay attention.
