A new Satellite Imagery of Interest is now available on the Observatory's website. The imagery shows the appearance of radiation fog in valleys and low-lying areas over southeastern China.
On 7 December 2016 night, radiation fog formed over southeastern China due to radiation cooling effect under cloud free sky. Satellite imageries captured the appearance of radiation fog formed in valleys and low-lying areas, and its dissipation after sunrise as the ground heated up. (The imageries were captured by Himawari-8 satellite of Japan Meteorological Agency)
