South China Coastal Waters

Weather Situation:
A broad trough of low pressure is bringing thundery showers
to the coastal waters of Guangdong and the northern part of
the South China Sea.

At 4 p.m., the tropical depression over the seas east of the
Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 45
kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 15.4
degrees north, 123.7 degrees east. It is forecast to move
north-northwest at about 10 kilometres per hour towards the
vicinity of Luzon, then linger over the region.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
South to southeast force 4 to 5.
Occasional heavy showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Nan'ao:
South force 4, occasionally force 5.
Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Shanwei, South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
South to southeast force 4 to 5.
Occasional heavy showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
Southerly winds of force 4 to 5. Occasional heavy showers
and squally thunderstorms.
