South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Strong winds in all areas.

Weather Situation:
An easterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

Tropical Storm Son-Tinh has weakened into a tropical
depression.

At 9 a.m., Son-Tinh with maximum sustained winds of about
55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 19.3
degrees north, 104.5 degrees east. It is forecast to move
west-northwest at about 10 kilometres per hour towards
inland of the northern part of Vietnam and weakening
gradually.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East force 5 to 6, force 7 at first.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao, Shanwei and South of Hong Kong:
East force 6 to 7.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Rough seas.

Shangchuan Dao:
East force 5 to 6.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
Easterly winds of force 5 to 6. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms.
