Warnings:
Gale force winds in Nan'ao. Strong winds in Shanwei.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

Typhoon Fung-wong has intensified into a severe typhoon.

At 4 p.m., Fung-wong with maximum sustained winds of about
155 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 12.8
degrees north, 130.0 degrees east. It is forecast to move
west-northwest at about 34 kilometres per hour towards Luzon
and continue to intensify.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
Northeast force 4 to 5.
Moderate seas.

Nan'ao:
Northeast force 4 to 5, occasionally force 6, up to force 8
later.
Moderate to rough seas, becoming very rough later.

Shanwei:
East to northeast force 4 to 5, occasionally force 6, up to
force 7 later.
Moderate to rough seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
East to northeast force 4 to 5.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
North to northeasterly winds of force 7 to 8, up to force 10
in east later. Frequent heavy squally showers and
thunderstorms.
