By the Hong Kong Observatory at 5:30 a.m. on 21 Oct 2025 Warnings: Storm force winds in south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao. Gale force winds in Hong Kong adjacent waters, Nan'ao and Shanwei. Weather Situation: The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters. At 5 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Fengshen with maximum sustained winds of about 90 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 18.4 degrees north, 113.1 degrees east. It is forecast to move west or west-southwest at about 12 kilometres per hour across the northern part of the South China Sea. Area forecasts for the next 24 hours Hong Kong Adjacent Waters: North to northeast force 6 to 7, occasionally force 8. Scattered squally showers and thunderstorms. Rough to very rough seas. Nan'ao and Shanwei: Northeast force 7 to 8, occasionally force 9. Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms. Very rough to high seas. South of Hong Kong: North to northeast force 8 to 9, occasionally force 10 at first. Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms. Very rough to high seas. Shangchuan Dao: North to northeast force 8 to 9, becoming up to force 11. Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms. Very rough to high seas, becoming very high.
