South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Strong winds in Nan'ao, Shanwei, south of Hong Kong and
Shangchuan Dao.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

At 3 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Koto with maximum sustained
winds of about 90 kilometres per hour near its centre was
located at 13.7 degrees north, 112.2 degrees east. It is
forecast to move north-northeast slowly across the southern
part of the South China Sea.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to northeast force 4 to 5.
A few light rain patches.
Moderate seas.

Nan'ao:
Northeast force 5 to 6.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Shanwei, South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
East to northeast force 5 to 6.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
East to northeasterly winds of force 5 to 6, up to force 7
in east later. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
