9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: Under the influence of an active southwest monsoon and a trough of low pressure, there will be occasional heavy showers and squally thunderstorms over the coast of southern China today and tomorrow. The trough of low pressure is expected to linger over the vicinity of the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea midweek this week. The weather will remain unsettled over the region. The subtropical ridge over the western North Pacific will extend westwards in the latter part of this week. Showers will ease off gradually and the weather will improve over Guangdong. It will become very hot over inland areas.
