Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. An anticyclone aloft is covering southern China. The weather is mainly fine over the region. At 2 a.m., Severe Tropical Storm Matmo was centred about 360 kilometres east-northeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 25 kilometres per hour edging closer to the vicinity of Luzon and continue to intensify. Weather forecast for today Mainly fine. The minimum temperature will be around 28 degrees in the morning. Very hot during the day with a maximum temperature of about 33 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Light to moderate easterly winds. Outlook : Very hot during the day on Saturday. Windy with occasional squally showers later on Saturday to Sunday. Seas will be rough with swells. Showers will ease off later on Sunday. Sunny periods and a few showers at the Mid-Autumn Festival and on the day after.
