South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Strong winds in all areas.

Weather Situation:
An easterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

At noon, Tropical Storm Son-Tinh with maximum sustained
winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was
located near 18.6 degrees north, 108.3 degrees east. It is
forecast to move west at about 30 kilometres per hour across
Beibu Wan and towards the northern part of Vietnam. Besides,
an area of low pressure to the east of the Philippines is
intensifying. A tropical cyclone appears to be forming.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
East to southeasterly winds of force 5 to 6. Scattered
squally showers and thunderstorms.
