South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Strong winds in all areas.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

Tropical Storm Kalmaegi has weakened into a tropical
depression.

At 4 p.m., Kalmaegi with maximum sustained winds of about 45
kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 15.3
degrees north, 104.7 degrees east. It is forecast to move
west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour across the
inland areas of indo-China and dissipate gradually.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to northeast force 5 to 6.
A few rain patches.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
East to northeast force 5 to 6.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

South of Hong Kong:
East force 5 to 6.
Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

Shangchuan Dao:
East force 4 to 5, up to force 6 at first.
Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas, rough at first.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
East to northeasterly winds of force 5 to 6, becoming north
to northeasterly winds of up to force 6 later, up to force 8
in east. Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
