  • Nurturing of Youth by the Observatory

  • Tuesday, 17th April 2018

The Hong Kong Observatory renders full support for nurturing of young generation. We participated for the third time in a row on “CLAP for Youth @ JC” project. This meaningful programme collates cross-sectoral support to help students and non-engaged youth navigating their futures.

30 students from Fanling Government Secondary School visited the Observatory at end of March. They toured around the Central Forecasting Office, TV Studio and various meteorological facilities, as well as participated in a dialogue session with different grades of the Observatory staff. Our colleagues introduced their professional jobs and relevant entry requirements. They also shared with the students the challenges and opportunities of their careers. The students showed a lot of interest in the Observatory’s work. They also expressed that the sharing session was very fruitful and provided new insights for their life planning.
