More than 20 secondary school teachers participated in a visit learning experience workshop at the Hong Kong Observatory organized by the Education Bureau in late March 2017.
The teachers learned about the Observatory’s work in weather forecasting and warning services, dissemination and applications of weather information, as well as radiation monitoring and emergency response. A guided tour to the Central Forecasting Office, meteorological instruments and the Monitoring and Assessment Centre was also conducted. The teachers expressed that the contents of the workshop were very rich, enabling them to gain more understanding of weather and radiation. They also greatly appreciated the professionalism and enthusiasm of Observatory’s staff, and would share the relevant knowledge and experience with their students.
