  • Earthquake Detector Design Competition - Exhibition and Award Presentation Ceremony

An exhibition and award presentation ceremony for Earthquake Detector Design Competition was held on 6 May at the Grand Hall of the Tsim Sha Tsui Kai Fong Welfare Association. The competition, funded by the Knowledge Exchange Fund of the University Grant Committee, was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Observatory, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Meteorological Society. The objective is to enhance students’ understanding of seismological monitoring through the application of new technology and the realization of innovative designs.

Over 450 participants from primary, secondary and international schools in Hong Kong, divided into junior and senior categories, took part to compete for various awards.
